Grounds to Engage

There’s an age of oppression
but at least it’s an age.
At the end of the garden
there are fairies on a stage
but they’re lonely and
restless and tending to rage.
The dust on these books
lends weight to the page.
The importance of history
is hard not to gauge.
If we leave it all now,
were there grounds to engage?
